Xilong Zhao leads the research on the low-carbon transition of China's cement industry, with a focus on carbon peaking and neutrality paths, and  supporting policies and market mechanisms. Before joining NRDC, he worked as a senior engineer and project manager with Beijing Triumph International Engineering Co., Ltd，a subsidiary of Sinoma, where he focused on cement process design and research on energy-saving and carbon reduction technologies. He holds a master's degree in environmental materials engineering from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology.
