Pathway for Capping Coal Consumption in Major Coal Consuming Sectors to Achieve China's Carbon Peaking and Neutrality Goals

Based on Integrated Carbon and Energy Model (iCEM) developed by CAEP, under the constraint of the national “carbon peaking 2030, carbon neutrality 2060” goal, the report proposes targets for coal control and carbon reduction in key industries (electricity, steel, cement, and coal chemical industries), as well as developing a roadmap for different stages. Additionally, besides the calculation of the cost for such measures and policies, the environmental, social, and economic impacts of the roadmap are examined as well.
