Dockside Monitoring and Seafood Traceability in the EU

2022-04

In December 2021, China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs released the 14th Five-Year Plan for Fisheries Development, which clearly states that China will strengthen fisheries reform and innovation, implement reforms in the management of fishing ports, and establish a comprehensive catch monitoring system for fisheries based on fishing ports. This report describes how the EU uses dockside monitoring and seafood traceability system as two defense lines against IUU catches from being landed, safeguard the legality of seafood and collect comprehensive landing data. We hope it will assist in developing China’s system of port-based catch monitoring and product traceability.
