The Role of Environmental NGOs in Environmental Public Interest Litigation: Research Report

This report is the culmination of surveys issued to 44 domestic environmental organizations and several forums held by the All China Environmental Federation and NRDC to further elucidate the role of environmental NGOs in environmental public interest litigation. Topics covered in the report include: Chinese EPIL legislation and its implementation progress; the role of environmental NGOs and the challenges they face in pursuing public interest litigation; best practices from the United States legal system and civil society sector; as well as recommendations for improvements to EPIL in China. The report was co-authored by the All China Environmental Federation (ACEF) and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC).
