Jiangsu is one of the most economically developed provinces in China. The province, with its carbon-intensive industries and energy structure, also has significant renewable energy growth potential, presenting both challenges and opportunities in achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. To support Jiangsu’s low-carbon energy transition, NRDC worked with the Jiangsu Provincial Society of Macro-Economics (JPSOM) to research development pathways for the New Power System in Jiangsu. The research report proposes pathways for achieving a high share of renewable energy, with demand side resources playing a crucial role in supporting the high-quality development of its New Power System.
