The Management and Financing Mechanisms of Energy Efficiency Programs in the U.S.

As a large energy consumer, the United States is getting off its dependence on fossil fuels in a variety of ways while reducing pollutant emissions and protecting the environment at the same time. Energy efficiency as the most cost-effective solution is drawing attention globally, and has been applied to the industrial, construction, transportation and a host of other energy-intensive sectors. The United States also regards energy efficiency as an important means against climate change. Substantial experience has been accumulated in the U.S. in its years of energy efficiency implementation. In this factsheet series, we will be introducing several proven energy efficiency financing and management models in the hope to provide useful experiences to Chinese energy efficiency programs.
