Expanding the share of renewable energy in its energy mix is one of the key pillars of China‘s low-carbon development strategy. This report analyzes the key tools under China’s Renewable Energy Law, including national renewable energy targets, a mandatory connection and purchase policy, and the establishment of a feed-in tariff system, and provides recommendations for improving implementation of the Renewable Energy Law.
