On July 29 for “Global Tiger Day”, NRDC co-organized the International Forum on Tiger and Leopard Transboundary Conservation together with China’s National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA). Leading tiger scientists, conservationists and officials from 19 tigers and leopards range countries gathered together in Harbin, a northeastern city of China, to share conservation efforts, review progress, and also identify conservation difficulties and challenges. The agreements reached during the forum were written up under the “Harbin Consensus on Strengthening Cooperation in Transboundary Conservation of Tigers and Leopards”, which paves the way for exploring more transboundary cooperation for tiger and leopard protection in the future.
