Energy Storage International Conference and Expo 2023 @CNESA

Since 2022, NRDC has been working with the China Energy Storage Alliance (CNESA) on policy research on the scale-up and commercialization of energy storage. At the Energy Storage International Conference and Expo (ESIE 2023) on April 9, experts from CNESA introduced initial outcomes from the project on “Promoting the High-Quality Development of Energy Storage Through Innovation in Business Models and Market Mechanisms.” The project focuses on analyzing the business models for new energy storage, including how it can complement renewables and participate and provide value in the power market, aiming to provide policy recommendations for the high-quality development of energy storage to benefit low-carbon transition. The insights reached key stakeholders at ESIE 2023, including policy makers from the National Energy Administration, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and experts from scientific institutes and power grid companies.
