Training to local officials @BRI Center 

Based on NRDC’s solid research in greening the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Jieqing Zhang, Country Director of NRDC China, was invited to give a lecture at a training on April 25 to senior officials of local government Development and Reform Commissions (DRCs), a key group to implement the strategy on greening BRI development. Jieqing gave a comprehensive introduction of international efforts to tackle climate change. She highlighted the huge gap in green finance and the urgent need to build a large amount of new infrastructure in BRI countries, especially in ASEAN countries. She also presented China’s strengths in renewable energy development and infrastructure construction that can serve as a reference and provide support to BRI countries’ green transition. The training was orgainised by the BRI Center under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). Senior officials from NDRC and industry representatives with overseas investments also participated in the training.
