NGOs and Partners Provide Recommendations for Air Law Amendments

2015-03-01

In March, 2015, NRDC joined the Clean Air Alliance of China (CAAC) to provide comments on China’s Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law amendments. This joint effort conducted a comprehensive analysis of China’s regulatory mechanisms for air pollution control and an in-depth study of international experiences. Together with CAAC, Energy Foundation China (EF), Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP) and Innovation Center for Clean-air Solutions (ICCS), we have proposed 10 major recommendations for the Air Law amendments. We have also been actively collaborating with local NGOs and other partners to analyze the amendment drafts and submit comments (independently and jointly). Our recommendations focus on information disclosure, public participation, public interest litigation, permit, coal consumption control, and clean energy expansion, and energy efficiency.
