NRDC and the Coalition for Green Capital led the 2017 Green Bank Congress held on September 18th in New York City, convening over 160 global leaders in green finance to discuss how Green Banks are attracting private capital to clean energy and how the model can be adapted to emerging markets. We invited Dr. Chai Qiming from China's National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC) to introduce China's policies and practices in developing green finance. Dr. Chai informed the participants of China's progress in carbon market growth, green finance policy development, and green banks' performance. NRDC has been working with partners to build a Green Bank Network (GBN) since 2016.
