On January 25, 2018, NRDC kicked off the CBD-2018 project successfully. More than 100 representatives from brands, factories and supporting organizations attended the event on a snowy day. Together, with pioneering brands and about 100 mills in total for CBD-2018, we will test the largest coordinated environmental performance improvement program for textile mills for the newly established Apparel Impact Institute, as well as develop a framework for rapidly scaling programs like CBD in the apparel and home textile industry around the world. Clean by Design (CBD) is a green supply chain efficiency program which calls upon multinational apparel retailers and fashion brands to improve upon environmental impacts in their factories abroad.
