In January, NRDC was invited by renowned fashion designer Stella McCartney to visit a silk reeling factory in China's Guangxi Province. The factory is already implementing some of the energy and water efficiency measures promoted by NRDC, however, we helped identify more energy saving opportunities onsite. The factory was impressed with our work, and NRDC will try to develop a lasting relationship with Stella McCartney and the Kering group to continue promoting best practices for saving water and energy in the clothing industry.
