2015-04-15

On April 15, 2015, Clean By Design released its new report, "The Textile Industry Leaps forward with Clean by Design: Bigger Profits Through Less Environmental Impact", based on its work in Shaoxing and the Guangzhou area, two of the world's textile manufacturing hot spots. The team identified more than 200 improvement projects grounded in CBD's Ten Best Practices and undertaken by 33 textile mills in 2014, which collectively delivered water and energy savings up to 36% and 22% respectively. Financial savings of these projects totaled $14.7 million dollars ($440,000 per mill), with an average payback period of less than 14 months. The event attracted more than 100 representatives from factories, corporates, government agencies, NGOs, institutes, and media. The event awarded leading mills for their outstanding performances.
