The 8th Annual Coal Cap International Workshop Convening Policymakers and Experts to Expedite China’s Energy Transition

On November 17, NRDC, in partnership with the Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, held the 8th Annual Coal Cap International Workshop. Keynote speakers included Jiang Zhaoli (Deputy Director General at Department of Climate Change of Ministry of Ecology and Environment), Wang Jinnan (Academician at Chinese Academy of Engineering & Director at Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning at Ministry of Ecology and Environment), Wang Yi (Professor and VP at Institutes of Science and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences) and Ma Jun (Chairman or China Green Finance Committee). Experts from Germany, U.K., Indonesia, and South Korea shared their insights and practices on promoting energy transition. Leading energy experts joined three panel discussions on coal reduction from three key perspectives: coal-intensive industries, coal-reliant provinces, and green finance. The workshop attracted over 7,000 views with peak concurrent users exceeding 600.
