Promote International Collaboration on Low Carbon Transition in ASEAN Countries

On March 24, NRDC and the BRI International Green Development Coalition (BRIGC) held a webinar on ASEAN's Green and Low-Carbon Transition under the BRI: Potentials and Opportunities. BRIGC is a coalition between China’s Ministry of Ecology and Environment and domestic and international key stakeholders, including relevant BRI government agencies, think tanks, NGOs and enterprises. NRDC is a member of BRIGC. 

Over 20 experts from China and ASEAN countries participated in the webinar, including those from the UN Environment Programme, ASEAN Centre for Energy, Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities of the Philippines, Institute for Essential Services Reform of Indonesia, Financial Futures Center of the Philippines, Australian National University, Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission, China Electric Power Planning and Engineering Institute, Institutes of Science and Development of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Peking University, Sinosure, CICC Global Institute, Belt and Road Environmental Technology Exchange and Transfer Center, and China New Energy International Alliance. Experts suggested to promote multi-stakeholders dialogue in green transition and renewable energy development. More than 100 representatives from Chinese and ASEAN country research institutions, enterprises and associations attended the meeting online.
