Due to an unprecedented speed and scale of urbanization, China faces the challenge of maintaining high-quality economic development while reducing energy consumption and mitigating negative environmental impacts. Through policy research, pilot projects, and training, NRDC introduces advanced development concepts and shares international experiences and lessons for Chinese cities. NRDC also cooperates with domestic institutions to promote the implementation of sustainable low-carbon development strategies at the city level, helping cities achieve greenhouse gas emissions peaking as early as possible.
