Illegal wildlife trade, poaching, habitat destruction, as well as the resulting loss in biodiversity and threats to ecological security are all global ecological concerns. Addressing them in a timely manner will support ecological protection in China and globally and help shape China’s image as a leader in global conservation. NRDC advocates in an international context to strengthen wildlife conservation policies and enforcements, participates actively in negotiations over international wildlife regulations, and promotes domestic legislations in various nations in order to better protect wildlife and its habitats. NRDC works with government agencies, research institutes and conservation organizations in China to improve the wildlife conservation related regulations and to strengthen enforcement of the laws and policies to better preserve key species and biodiversity.
