On Aug 30, 2016, NRDC organized a session of "Managing Air Quality in Port Cities" at the 9th Better Air Quality (BAQ) Conference jointly with the Clean Air Asia and UNEP, in Busan, South Korea. Six experts representing China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, and engine manufacturers shared encouraging progresses made in greening ports and shipping in Asian countries. The speeches presented diverse perspectives from government agencies, research institutes, private sector, NGO and international government organization and were well-received. The experts and more than 40 audiences also warmly discussed the potential of establishing a shipping emission control area (ECA) in Asia.
